Review

"Hide and Seek" is a short story of about seven pages that takes place just a couple of weeks after Heart of Obsidian in the Psy-Changeling series chronology. When Kaleb comes to pick up Sahara from her dad's house, she engages him in a game of hide and seek in the garden just like they used to do as kids. Then Kaleb teleports them to a deserted tropical island for a little romance. This is a sweet interlude for Kaleb and Sahara, just a small slice of life showing them being romantic and playful. After everything they've been through, I loved seeing them more lighthearted. There are still things that Kaleb doesn't understand from an emotional standpoint, but he's willing to accept them, and I like how his love for Sahara makes him a better person. This was a sweet, romantic story that I very much enjoyed. It gave me all the feels in spite of its brevity.
